![]() I can also supply two piece straps in ladies sizes with open ends, which will fit onto these loop ends. If you have a watch like this with the original expanding bracelet broken or missing, I can make gold or silver Loop Ends like the ones fitted to my grandmother's watch, which enable a leather strap to be attached. These have very small fixing on the case that cannot take a conventional strap, which is why the gold loop fittings to take a leather strap were made when the original bracelet wore out or broke. My grandmother's watch was originally fitted with a Harrop Britannic expanding metal bracelet. In the photograph here, my grandfather's watch is wearing a Type B design in premium Italian dark chestnut leather with, of course, a hand made Type GW hallmarked sterling silver buckle. These were manufactured during the Great War (World War One, WW1, 1914 ‐ 1918) and my grandfather's wristwatch has the fixed wire lugs that were usual for men's wristwatches at the time. I became interested in vintage watches in 2004 when I inherited my grandfather's and grandmother's Rolex wristwatches, shown in the picture here. I am a Chartered Engineer and watch collector named David Boettcher - but please don't worry about my family name, just call me David.
